Meet Kedarnath: Your Best Himalayan Getaway With TREKBERRY

And, for all our talk about the Himalayas, we’ve always ended up preferring vistas and experiences further west of India, where we find ourselves extremely happy with the great outdoors and shied away from challenging treks like the ones that command space on most people’s trek wish-lists because cringeworthy toughness is sexy, until Kedarkantha came to us and, with its snow, forests, meadows and the view of the pointed summit, it was EVERYTHING you wished for. Known as one of India’s premier winter treks, it’s where accessibility meets jaw-dropping beauty. And with TrekYaari, you are not merely trekking — you are living a story.

🌄 What Makes Kedarkantha Special?

Kedarkantha is a popular trekking route which is located in Govind Pashu Vihar National Park in Uttarkashi district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The climb is 12,500 feet and from the top the wide angle gives trekkers a 360 degree view of EIGHT peaks all covered with ice including Swargarohini, the conch of the Lord Sri Krishna, Kala Nag, Bandarpoonch. But it’s not just the summit. The trails meander through rustling pine woods, past sweet little wood huts, beside tarns in various states of frozen-ness and over open clearings that fill with powdery snow in winter. Each one is practically a postcard.
